Get to Know the Creator:
Hi! My name is Olivia Taylor, and I am a rising senior at University High School in San Francisco.
I created Cortex & Clover because I am fascinated by the adolescent brain and how our daily habits shape mental health. Through my work as a tutor and youth leader at CCSC, I have had the opportunity to work closely with elementary school students and observe how movement, environment, routine, and emotional support affect learning and well-being.
As I began learning more about neuroscience, I became interested in a question: What if small, science-backed habits could help young people build stronger mental health before problems become overwhelming?
Through Cortex & Clover, I explore the connection between neuroscience, mental health, and adolescent development. My goal is to make research accessible and practical by translating complex scientific findings into everyday strategies that students, families, educators, and communities can use.
I hope this project encourages curiosity, self-awareness, and conversations about how we can better support the mental health of young people.
