Our Research:

Why Research Matters and Our Process:

Research is how we turn questions into meaningful answers. Every recommendation on this website begins with evidence, not assumptions. By exploring how the adolescent brain develops and how habits like sleep, screen time, and studying affect well-being, we can better understand what truly helps students thrive.

Our goal is to make scientific research accessible, practical, and easy to apply so that every student, parent, and educator can use it to make informed decisions in everyday life.

Current Research Areas:

Memory & Learning: Understanding How We Learn

  • How does the brain learn new information?

  • When and how are memories consolidated?

  • Strategies to improve retention, recall, and academic performance.

Screen Time & Digital Habits: Building a Healthy Relationship with Technology

  • Why adolescent screen time management matters.

  • The impact of digital habits on focus, sleep, and well-being.

  • How to be intentional with technology and build sustainable habits.

Sleep & Adolescent Well-Being: The Foundation of Mental and Physical Health

  • Why sleep is essential during adolescence.

  • Sleep consistency and healthy sleep routines.

  • The connection between sleep, mood, memory, and academic success.

Learning Styles & Study Strategies: Finding What Works Best for You

  • Exploring different approaches to learning.

  • Understanding individual strengths and preferences.

  • Evidence-based study techniques for different types of learners.

Our Research Process:

  1. Identify questions relevant to adolescent mental health and development.

  2. Review peer-reviewed scientific literature and trusted organizations.

  3. Compare findings across multiple sources.

  4. Translate research into accessible language.

  5. Share findings with students, families, educators, and community organizations.

  6. Continuously update content as new research emerges.

Long-Term Vision

Cortex & Clover is just the beginning. My goal is to grow this project beyond a website by partnering with nonprofits, researchers, and educators to better understand what teens need and turn research into meaningful action.

In the future, I hope to create workshops, expand our interactive toolkits, and develop a Cortex & Clover app where students can track habits, reflect on their well-being, and receive personalized, research-based resources. As we continue collecting authentic student data, these tools can become even more relevant and impactful.

I believe the brain is like its own universe: there is still so much to discover. My hope is that Cortex & Clover inspires teens to be curious about their minds, understand themselves better, and realize they have the ability to grow, adapt, and create positive change throughout their lives.
